Presently, this innovative treatment is offered only in the Bahamas by Dr. Jonathan Rodgers at the Vision Rejuvenation® Center, Nassau and in the United Kingdom by physicians at Ultralase clinics. It is not available anywhere else in the world.
Patients who have visited the Vision Rejuvenation® Center frequently comment on the ease of the procedure. They say it is painless and that they can see results immediately. The treatment improves their ability to see nearby objects without glasses and without sacrificing distance vision. In fact, distance vision often improves following the procedure. Another major convenience is that since the treatment doesn't damage the delicate nerves in the cornea, with the exception of one numbing drop the night and morning after the procedure, no postoperative medications are necessary. In contrast to LASIK and other refractive surgeries, the Optimal Keratoplasty procedure used by the Vision Rejuvenation® Center does not cause dry eye or night vision disturbances such as glare, halo and starburst. Among the more than 1200 treatments performed to date, no adverse events have been observed or reported.
