Performing the treatment on both eyes takes less than 3 minutes. An anesthetic eye drop is used to eliminate discomfort. No antibiotics are required postoperatively, because the external layer of the eye is not damaged. The treatment produces immediate results. Unlike other treatments that require tissue removal or some form of cutting, our procedure preserves and can even enhance distance vision. Moreover, as the eye ages, the treatment can be performed repeatedly to keep pace with any changes.

In the United States, Opti-K^® has not been cleared or approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the general population. In the United States, Opti- K^® is only available for investigational use to treat patients enrolled in the U.S. Clinical Trial.
